Customer loyalty is good business

As a business owner, manager, sales person, etc have you been fired by some of your customers or clients? You probably have. I know that I have fired several businesses. No business is exempt, retail stores, restaurants, insurance agents, car dealers, realtors and sale representatives are all fair game to get the axe from their clients or customers.

Have businesses forgotten that the customers are the ones who essentially pay their salaries? You would think that with the economy the way it is, and people being more selective about where they spend their money that businesses would work harder to keep the customers they have.

Treat your customers with respect; treat them like your next meal is dependent on them, because essentially it is. Watch how your customers are treated when they enter your business. Are they treated like an interruption or like a welcomed friend?

  1. Good advice. So many companies have forgotten how to be nice now that are using employees in customer service outside U.S.A. The limited English language ability keeps them from talking to us with respect & friendliness. Looses the company much more than American salaries would cost them.

It is very frustrating to not understand the person on the other end of the customer service line. It makes you wonder if the management has ever called their own customer service department to find out how the service really is.
